Heart attacks are the leading cause of death in the United States, with 600,000 dying annually of heart disease. More than five million Americans visit hospitals each year with chest pain. The Society’s accreditation process ensures centers meet or exceed quality-of-care measures in acute cardiac medicine.
Our Emergency Room diagnoses and treats thousands of patients each year for chest pain, stroke symptoms and other cardiac and vascular ailments. Unlike at some hospitals where specialist coverage is scarce, our hospital ensures that cardiologists and cardiac surgeons are immediately available at all times - day or night. Moreover, since time to diagnosis is critical in instances of heart attacks and other critical conditions, our emergency physicians use only the fastest, most accurate diagnostic tests, such as the "on-line" electrocardiogram (EKG) system.
