Our dedicated Inpatient Rehabilitation Program team of specialists works
together to ensure an individual program designed to help you reach your
full potential. The team is led by a Physiatrist, a physician trained
in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and includes rehabilitation nurses,
physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists,
rehabilitation recreation specialists, social worker, psychologist, and
a full complement of support staff.
Our Medical Director
Allen Kaisler-Meza MD is the Medical Director for the Inpatient Acute
Rehabilitation Program. Dr. Kaisler-Meza is Board Certified by the American
Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Kaisler-Meza is nationally recognized for his leadership and innovation
in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He lectures frequently on pain
management and industrial disability. He is a past president of the California
Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
A nursing graduate of Hunter College, Dr. Kaisler-Meza completed medical
school at Cornell University New York, an internship in Internal Medicine
at VMC and his residency in Rehabilitation Medicine at Stanford University,
where he was Chief Resident. He is also a UCLA diplomate in acupuncture.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Kaisler-Meza is familiar to Bay Area television
audiences who appreciate his ability to communicate complex medical issues
in understandable terms.
Dr. Kaisler-Meza advocates for a multi-disciplinary approach to rehabilitation,
encourages family and community support participation in the rehabilitation
process, and develops treatment plans that address each patient’s
unique needs and abilities.
