Chemical Dependency Treatment in San Jose
Because most addictive disorders are complex, multi-faceted, progressive
illnesses, Good Samaritan offers several treatment options for substance
abuse or dependent patients.
Inpatient Medical Detoxification
Our dedicated medical detoxification unit provides safe detoxification
from certain drugs and alcohol. Once detoxified, many patients transition
into one of our lower levels of care.
Outpatient Medical Detoxification
In outpatient detoxification, an attending physician manages patients’
detoxification to ensure safe withdrawal. Patients are also seen by a
registered nurse every day to monitor their symptoms, progress, and clinical
needs throughout the program.
Chemical Dependency Partial Hospitalization Program
With a structured weekday program of six hours a day, this level of care
incorporates Dual Diagnosis treatment and introduces relapse prevention,
which is a cornerstone of treatment throughout the patient’s stay.
Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program
A three-hour day or evening treatment, the Intensive Outpatient Program
teaches our patients about addiction and offers them personalized relapse-prevention plans.
Alumni Aftercare Support Groups
An essential tool for continued sobriety and support throughout a patient’s
recovery, Aftercare offers free morning and evening support groups. The
Alumni Association also plans social functions throughout the year and
has established an Internet listserv so that patients can stay connected.
Nicotine & Tobacco Dependency Support Group
Designed to support and educate patients and community members who would
like to quit smoking, this free support group meets weekly.
Revision Relapse Prevention Therapy
As a planned expansion of the Chemical Dependency program in 2003, this
group will focus exclusively on chemical dependency relapse prevention.
It is designed for those who have abstained for a period or who have been
through treatment before and want to revise their recovery.
