Paul Beaupré MD, Chief Executive Officer
Years of working as an anesthesiologist prepared Paul Beaupré perhaps
better than anything to become the CEO of San Jose’s Good Samaritan
Hospital. In a profession that requires being on call day or night, Beaupré
spent 22 years practically living at the hospital.
After extensive leadership service on the Medical Staff of Good Samaritan
Hospital—including election as Chief of Staff—Dr. Beaupré
joined the senior leadership team of the hospital as Vice-President of
Medical Affairs in 2004. In January 2010, he took the helm as CEO, succeeding
the retiring Bill Piché.
Jordan Herget, FACHE, Chief Operating Officer
Jordan Herget joined HCA in 1999 after beginning his healthcare career
as a Senior Consultant with Ernst & Young. From a foundation in finance
and managed care, Mr. Herget forayed into hospital operations as Associate
Administrator and then COO of Alaska Regional Hospital.
He was COO at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and then CEO at OU
Medical Center-Edmond where he successfully led a complex and sometimes
contentious merger of two medical staffs and governance structure. His
experience includes significant capital investment, program alignment
and development, management of union environments, and improved patient
Mr. Herget is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a Master of Health
Science (Health Finance and Management) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg
School of Public Health.
Jody Dial, Chief Financial Officer
Jody Dial comes to Good Samaritan Hospital from Timpanogos Regional Hospital
where he served as CFO since 2012. Prior to that he was Controller for
HCA’s Mountain Division, where he identified cost management opportunities,
enabled growth initiatives and supported nine hospitals. Mr. Dial has
a varied financial background including international acquisitions and
capital management. He is a graduate of Idaho State University.
Bruce Wilbur, MD Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Wilbur has been a member of the Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Staff
since 2000. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Vice
Chief of Staff, and most recently as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Wilbur
graduated from Cornell Medical College and completed his general surgical
residency at UCLA. He also took off time during his residency to do basic
surgical research at the Mayo Clinic. Following completion of his residency
Dr. Wilbur did a vascular fellowship at UCSF. He was an Assistant Professor
of Surgery at Stanford University before entering private practice and
brings over 30 years of medical expertise to the Good Samaritan executive team.
Darina Kavanagh, RN, Chief Nursing Officer
Darina Kavanagh, MS, RN, CPHQ, was appointed chief nursing officer of Good
Samaritan Hospital of San Jose in November 2012 after serving most recently
as CNO for Regional Medical Center of San Jose. Previously, Ms. Kavanagh
was associate chief nurse officer at San Jose Medical Center in San Jose,
CA; assistant director of nursing at Princess Grace Hospital in London;
and held nursing staff positions at New England Deaconess Hospital in
Boston, MA, and St. Vincent’s University Hospital in Ireland. Ms.
Kavanagh earned her R.N. at St. Vincent’s University Hospital in
Dublin, Ireland and her Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management
at the Royal College of Nursing, London, U.K. She holds a Master of Science
in Nursing Administration from San Jose State University and was honored
as a San Jose State University Outstanding Alumna in 2007.
